How We Handle Your Information

The short version

We collect only what you type into our contact form. We use it to reply to you, and for nothing else unless you say so. We never sell or share it, and we delete it whenever you ask.

Who is responsible

Gezelex Research Initiative is an independent research project. The person responsible for your data (the controller) is Yevhen Shapovalov, on behalf of Gezelex Research Initiative.

Contact: mail@gezelex.com

What we collect

—

What you enter in the form: your response, your role, your email, and optionally your name, organization, and message.

—

Which link brought you to the site (for example, a LinkedIn post or an email) and the first page you opened. This is kept in your browser only for the current visit and sent along with your message, so we understand which channels work.

—

We use no cookies, no tracking pixels, and no advertising tools.

Why we use it

—

To reply to your message. That's the default, and the only thing we do unless you tick one of the boxes in the form.

—

If you tick "Keep me posted", we'll email you when findings are published. Nothing more often than that.

—

If you tick the research box, your answers may inform published research, but only in anonymized, aggregated form. Anything you wrote may be quoted only without your name, your organization, or any detail that could identify you.

Where it goes

Your message is delivered to our own mailbox and a backup copy is stored on our own web server, both hosted by our hosting provider, which processes the data only on our behalf. Nobody else receives it. To protect the form from automated spam, we keep an anonymized (hashed) record of how often messages are sent from the same connection, for no longer than one hour.

Our website loads its fonts from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser connects to Google's servers, which see your IP address. We don't send Google anything else.

How long we keep it

Until 31 December 2028, when the current research phase ends. After that, it's deleted. If you've asked to be kept posted, we keep your email until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You can ask at any time to see what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or withdraw any consent you gave. One email to mail@gezelex.com is enough, no reason needed. If you believe we've mishandled your data, you can also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
